I have never been a big fan of apples and cinnamon but when it comes to rolls and any kind of bread, I certainly have no qualms about cinnamon. Perhaps it is the smell or just the sweet taste on the rolls that do me in even when I am supposed to hate it.

Diane, For strict vegans, in Sacramento we also have Green Boheme (raw-vegan), Loving Hut (vegan) and Noble Vegetarian (vegan). But you may just be enamored with The Plum, given all the new items they have / changes they've made, and decide not to eat anywhere else for a while!

Never really thought about it but you're right, Sacramento doesn't have many vegetarian, let-alone vegan places to eat other than Andy N's and perhaps Udupi. I ate at Sugar Plum once, look forward to checking out the new menu. Great they are open for Sunday brunch.

Claire,
I mostly use a knife, although I do own small food chopper I purchased years ago from Pampered Chef. While it works great for nuts, just another thing to clean!

I wanted to ask you how you chop quantities of nuts, as for the recipe above, by hand or do you have a device. I haven't found anything that works other than a knife and I wondered if there was a good alternative.

This looks wonderful. I like the gooeyness of the filling- perhaps more like a..., hum, not sure but it looks good! I've never made fougasse. Seems a bit easier that I thought. Maybe I'll make some with persimmons, which are all over now.
